• MOMS RAISE FAMILIES SO THEY CAN CERTAINLY BALANCE THE BUDGET

  • Did you ever notice that the stepmother in all fairy tales is always rich?  I think they have dead spouses who leave them all their money.  Nonetheless, with all the talk of the budget and national deficit, stepmoms and moms seem to be the best solution.  I will now give you my core structure to solve the deficit.

    Step 1:  Form your advisory committee.  Initially, this committee will be composed of women, preferably those that have household management experience.  None of these women have any side interests or are receiving funding from any sources.  Here is my choice for this committee, with others to follow:

    @SavvyAuntie @Dooce
    @ToolboxGirl @Cafesmom
    @5MinutesforMom @MarthaBeck
    #JeanetteMaw @KoelleInc (Koelle Simpson)
    @Oprah @Rosie

    We will have the following rules of engagement and run the government like a household.

    • We take one issue at a time.
    • No earmarks.
    • No pork barrel spending. You can’t trade one vote for another.
    • We follow the same policies as when we taught our kids how to use a checkbook.  “If you have no money, you can’t spend money.  No credit cards.”

    We adhere to the following kindness policies:

    • We invest in education.
    • We invest in kind treatment of our elderly.
    • No cuts to the disabled and we invest in finding innovative treatments.
    • Revamp the tax system and make it simple, something a high school student would understand.

    You can’t create a budget, if you don’t know where you are going.  Let’s recap our goals:

    Step 1:  What are your goals?

    –      The U.S will become the most innovative country in the world.

    –      We will explore best practices in other countries and work towards adopting those policies.

    –      We will be a kind country and show respect to our elderly, our disabled, and those that want to live here.

    –      We will create a 20-year plan to become debt free.

    –      Our citizens are free.

    Step 2:  What is the government’s purpose?

    –      Safety

    –      Infrastructure and the safety of our infrastructure

    –      Best public education

    –      Best treatment of our elderly and disabled

    –      Kind immigration policy

    With these goals and purposes in mind, we can now create a meaningful budget.  Please note that the goals do not imply that government provides all solutions, but it creates a foundation for decision-making.  For example, if we are the most innovative country in the world, then our tax system and incentives support this initiative.  A kind immigration system can be a meaningful source of revenue and support our other goals.  If our elderly is highly respected and treated with dignity, what can we learn from them?

    Let’s get going!  I figure it should take us two days?
