THE LONELY STEPMOTHER IS GOING TO BLOGHER 2011

Today, I am leaving for San Diego to attend my first BlogHer 2011 Conference.  BlogHer is the premiere event for female bloggers.  The conference is expected to attract 3,000 women and I expect that most of them will be mommy bloggers.  A tough, ballsy crowd.

Here comes the step mom bloggers!  For the very first time, there is a separate get together for step moms.   I can’t help but wonder if the step mom bloggers will be treated the same as we are in real life.

Will the ‘real’ moms get wine in their rooms and we’ll get beer in brown paper bags?

Do you think we will have to sit in the back of the room during the sessions?  Or,     perhaps, sit in a separate room?

Do you think the moms will want to stay away from us so we don’t break up their marriages?

As a professional step mom, I am gearing up.  Heather Clisby wrote a great blog where she suggested that you find a serious Home Girl to stick with you for the conference.  Done and done!  I begged and pleaded with Heather Hetchler of Café Smom to be my girl.  She is one of the great step moms on the planet and I plan on being her stalker.

Hey Moms!  All of us step moms would love to meet you.  Please find us!  I have a feeling that we may be at the bar!
